Preserving "Historically Significant Railroad Artifacts" of the United States
The Railroad Artifact Preservation Society relies on the generous contributions and donations  of friends and supporters to help us with our preservation efforts.  We are currently working on the following projects:

1. To cosmetically restore 5000 to her original appearance and maintain the integrity of the locomotive.
2. To construct, maintain and operate the Santa Fe Locomotive Development Museum in downtown Amarillo Texas.  This museum will be constructed around the 5000 so that she can be protected from the weather.

These preservation projects will preserve this historic and one-of-a-kind locomotive that was a pioneer in the development of "Supreme Steam", and assure the preservation of the glorious history of Santa Fe Locomotive Development for our children, the interested public, and future generations.

Individuals and corporations can become involved with the Railroad Artifact Preservation Society in a variety of ways:

1.  By volunteering time, needed services & materials.
2.  With cash donations, which will be used to construct the SFLDM and preserve 5000.
3.  Purchasing RAPS merchandise from our shopping page.
