NEW RESTORATION PROJECT:  Pullman Coach 585

The Railroad Artifact Preservation Society is pleased to announce the acquisition of a very rare Pullman Passenger Car .  In our research so far  the Society has not found another car exactly like 585.  We have not been able to find out what railroad it belonged to or if it was one of the Pullman Company lease cars.

What we know so far:

1.  The number “585” was found in  gold lettering by RAPS volunteers at the top of one of the end doors.

2.  Under the pink and yellow color is the original Pullman Green.

3.  The interior paneling has been painted over but appears to be Mahogany.

4.  The underframe  is steel.

5.  The location of the trucks is unknown.  We don’t know if they were two-axle or three-axle trucks.

6.  The dimensions are;
Length = 66′ 8 1/2″
Width   = 10′ 4″
Height = 10′ 6 1/2″
Weight =  Unknown

RAPS needs to find out as much about this car as possible before the restoration work begins.  If you are knowlegable about Pullman Cars please contact RAPS.  We need your help!
